Cinema with the kids

I was feeling a little guilty because we haven't filled the holidays back to back with stuff for the kids to do, so we went to the cinema today. Trying to get a film to please a little girly 6 year old, a bit older girly 7 year old and a very trying to be cool pre teen 12 year old boy is a pretty tall order.

So we went to see Mr Bean's Holiday.

Predictible.

Silly.

But lots of laughs.

Then again I love kids films. We are all excited by the trailers up and running for films to come too the must sees for my kids (and me!) are Shrek 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Can't wait for either of them.

So what film is on your must see list in the foreseeable future? Post your answer in the comments section of this post to be in with a chance to win a RAK from the very inspirational and most generous Wilna. You need to answer this question, then, to be eligible for the RAK, you need to visit some other blogs and leave comments there too. Here is her blog: Wilna, so you can see what else you need to do!

Also check out the fabby competition Kirsty has got running for all lovers of BOM's. Scrap your hands. There are stacks of cool prizes lined up already. Digi, paper or hybrid pages are all welcome as I am sure are international entries (best check that out on Kirsty's blog mind). You ought to bookmark Kirsty's site, she does some great digi freebies and very gorgeous photos too.

My entry is actually a page I did around this time last year, it was a challenge run on another board to create your own stamps. As you can see, I took the easy way out!

My hubby is deployed so I don't get to see any movies, plus we have twin 2 year olds, lol. But the military has a great program for deployed spouses to drop their kids off at daycare on one saturday a month, that is tomorrow!!!! I am so excited. I want to go see the Adam Sandler movie-Reign over me. It will probably make me cry though b/c hubby is over in the war, but I think it will also be really good.

congrats on MM Idol and good luck next round :)

Wishing you success! Kim

Hi Suzanne! Can't wait to see what you create next in the final round! Best wishes to you!

I am really excited to see Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3...it really is the year for third sequels, huh? And I really want to see Miss Potter, but somehow I missed it and am waiting impatiently for the dvd to come out!

hi...wow! you have some amazing layouts and best of luck in the next round. you are doing such a good job!

i guess this might be kind of lame, but I'm looking forward to a movie called Transformers (I think), cause it has a guy in it who is from my hometown in N.D. Gotta support the locals who make something of themselves!!

Thanks for the fun game!!

Continued success to you - I feel the same about my own hands, but get this - I just had a manicure today for the first time in (shhhh!) three years. And they look so pretty, they don't look like my hands at all.
Besides the movies you mentioned, Spiderman 3 is on my list...and another I need to watch since reading the book is The Painted Veil.

Your work is so fun! Wilna sent me and I'm glad she did. My goodness I don't tend to watch movies. Life is so short and if I've got free time I'd rather be creating something or doing a craft with the kids. If I do see anything in the near future it will have to be rated G ... what's out there that's G ?? anything?

COming up in my movie horizon is SpiderMan 3...a little Toby Maguire is always fun for a couple of hours. =) I most recently loved 'Music and Lyrics"' with Drew barrymore and Hugh Grant. There were so many great lines in it, I have to see it again! Happy belated bday to your Baby. =) Happy Friday too!!

Do I have to pick one!? :oD

Ok, I haven't seen 300 yet, and I've heard that the art was fantastic in it, blood and gore aside.

And one friend told me that Ghost Rider was a lot better than it looked like it would be, so that's on my list.

But there's one movie on my list that I can't wait to watch: Veggie Tales: a Snoodle's Tale.

Any movie with a fun word like "Snoodle" in the title has got to be something. ;o)

Awesome layout! Congrats on making it to the top 3 - your work is wonderful.
As for movies... there are so many! But right now I really want to see 300

Our 2 1/2 year old is just getting into the movies and he loves it and it makes for a rather relaxing 2 hours. Take care and good luck!!

Have a super weekend!

You picked the best thought to teach any girl - yours or others! I love your LO.
Your question is the toughest - I don't watch movies very often. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 sounds good - as long as I get to watch the first 2 uninterrupted first! LOL
Have a great weekend creating!

I am over here for the first time from Wilna's blog.

I'm not sure how to answer this question because I really do not pay attention to movies! I'll say 300, although, I doubt it will be in any time soon!

WOW! Love your art...so glad Wilna sent us over! As for the must see movie for the season, I'm thinking it's going to be Shrek 3, too. Just read that it's highly anticipated by Parent's Mag. So, that sounds like a good choice. (But, Johnny is someone I gotta see, too, heh-heh.)

Movie in the near future..it will have to be Shrek 3. Kids are so looking forward to this. Thanks for the inspiration and best of luck to you!!

Good luck with MM Idol!

And I think the movie I want to see next is Hoax!

Oooo my 'must see' movie coming up would be Shrek 3. We are planning on taking the kids to the theater to see it. They are 3 & 4 and we've never taken them yet, so we're very much looking foward to it!!!

Very nice LO! It looks so feminine and pretty! Keep up the great work on idols! I loved your last LO there! So pretty!

Love scary movies!! I'm looking forward to checking out that new movie (dont know the name of it)but it's the one where the couple check into a motel room and turn on the tv and see things that have happened in that room. I'm sure it will freak me out!!

Congratulations on being top 3 in MM Idol!!

Firstly, congratulations on getting to the top 3 of the MM Idols contest. I have to say I can't wait to see Shrek 3 and wouldn't mind a good laugh with Mr Bean's holiday. Just haven't had the time to get to the movies. Can't wait to see your next creation.

Yizz said...

Just want to say congrats on making it so far in the MM Idol cont - you deserve it because your work is brilliant (love the hands LO btw)

I was dragged out to see 300 the other week - it wasnt as fantastic as the reviews say, the blood and gore were def. very plastic looking, which was a good thing as I dont do blood LOL. I've been looking forward to Pirates 3 ever since Pirates 1 but my top must see is HP, my DVD's of the first 4 films have been watched to death!

{Lara} said...

Well done on your MM success so far!

I would love to see a movie, any movie! Seriously I haven't been out to a movie in over a year! I did get to see one on an airplane recently though. So hope that counts somewhere!

Hello Suzanne,

Congrats! great to see a contestant who is halfway closer to where we are, In South Africa!

Loved the way you did the embellishments on your wall art. In fact, if I could have made it full screen, I'd still be staring!

'Your hands' say a lot, but the same tone comes through in your art. very genuine & loving.

Well done!

WOW! Stunning page Suzanne!
Sweet Wilna sent me over here. I'm so glad I found you!
Being a mom, I also share the same must see list as you:
Shrek 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Can't wait for either of them too! Well, I'm being a little dishonest when I say that I can't wait for the Pirates movie because of my kids. I'm secretly in love with Johnny Depp! Ha ha!

Kelly said...

I want to see Wild Hogs (has only just come out here) and Rocky Balboa (new here too).
Also can't wait for the new Harry Potter...it's been a long time coming!!

Hello Suzanne. Congratulations to you and Best of Luck for the next round. My family is looking forward to Harry Potter this summer- both the movie and THE BOOK. That's all my son talks of these days. Also looking forward to 2 Tamil movies releasing this summer. Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the theatres this summer!! Priya

Wild Hogs for me :-) John Travolta, yum! I've seen lots of trailers over the last week and it looks great. I'll also be in the queue for Pirates of Caribbean 3 - Johnny Depp is fabulous in his Jack Sparrow role.

Last but not least many congrats on your MM idols achievement - you must be proud :-)

My favorite all time movie for now Something New...the story of a black woman that falls in love with a white man. A wonderful love story that tackles the issues that come with interracial relationships/marriages.

I LOVE to go to the movies and I can't WAIT for the drive-in to open for the summer. We love going to the drive in for several reasons - it's cheap - 2 movies for $10 - we don't have to find a sitter - and the kids go to sleep after the first movie so we still have a little "us" time. I can't wait to see Spiderman 3, and Pirates 3, oh and the next Harry Potter. Can't wait!

We just took our 6 yr. old grand daughter to see *Meet the Robinsons* in 3-D!
If you have small children that haven't seen a 3-D movie, I recommend it highly.
Truthfully Grandpa and I got a big kick out of it too...

Love your layouts - lots of fun! I rarely go to a movie - I ship my husband and the kids off and I scrapbook, hehe. But the next movie I will likely see is Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
